I am interested in becoming a product reviewer, I work in the Public Relations and Corporate Communications dept of a major insurance company and feel that I have a knack for giving honest and objective characteristics of various products. However, I can only find instructions on how to perform product review through blogging, I am not interested in blogging, I wish to do product review for print media. Does anyone know how to break into this profession?

Sure. First start with blogging, even if you don’t like it, but just to show what you can do.
Put out a press release on your review. There are several places online to post for free.
Also find a website that would appreciate your reviews and offer to write them for free (just to establish you as a serious journalist of product reviews).
After a few published well-written reviews and press releases, contact the magazines or companies you are interested in working for by email AND snail mail with sample reviews and links to your press releases and/or blog.
At this point you won’t be a newbie or wannabe to them and they are more likely to invest in you.
A side note: Is there someone’s product reviews you really admire? Email/call them and get a dialog started. Maybe they will become you mentor?
