Childrens Hoodies Which Are Safe

In the US there is a ban on any top designed for children which has a drawstring attached to it. It does not matter if it is on the hood, around the neck or attached to the waist. Children have died recently because of drawstrings which has prompted the ban. Strangulation occurs when the string gets tangled around the child or caught up on something. This does not mean that all children hoodies should be banned however. They can be great items of clothing for children.

Back To The Ban

Heavy fines and even prosecution has been brought against large retailers and manufacturers who used drawstrings in their children’s tops. The Consumer Product Safety Commission ruled that they were putting the health and safety of children at risk by even stocking tops with drawstrings on.

The tragic death of a three year old boy whose string got attached on a slide and he suffocated made these rulings more open to the public. One reason why retailers have gotten away with stocking children’s clothes with drawstrings is because not very many parents knew that they were banned.  The publication of the ban means that the CPSC can find lawbreaking retailers and manufacturers more quickly.

Nordstrom the Seattle retailer was fined ,000 for selling banned tops. Four more retailers have received a collective fine of 0,000 over the past few years. Hills Sportswear and Kohl’s were two of them. Yet again another little girl suffocated when het top got caught at the playground.

Every parent should make sure that the clothing they buy their child is safe to be worn. Thinking about how your child’s activities could be risky to your child should be done when buying items. If they go on a bike you do not want their trousers to get caught in the pedals for example.

Hoodies should not be banned all together. When they are designed safely they can look super cute. Their comfort value means that children will happily wear them. Not only that, but a hoody is a great winter and autumn staple.

The New Fashion Trend: Velour Tracksuits

Trends come in and out of fashion with today’s retail system but if an item is extremely popular it will become a wardrobe staple. Denim jeans are the most notable trend turned staple in recent decades. A velour tracksuit seems to be the latest new staple in our wardrobe.

Unlike fads which last a season or two and then disappear, the velour tracksuit seems to be sticking around. Most retailers have designed a velour tracksuit every season for the past few years. This is an age in the fashion world.

Velour tracksuits came to public view through celebrities at first. Britney Spears used pink velour tracksuits for her bridesmaids in her wedding to K-Fed. Then footballer’s wives took on the trend during international competitions.

On the high street they have become popular with everyone. People like them so much because they are comfortable and stylish. But you should only wear a good quality velour tracksuit. When it is washed it should keep its shape. It is also important that the colour does not fade. You will look cheap rather than fashionable if the quality is poor.

For adults darker colours work best otherwise you may end up a little like mutton dressed as lamb. Pinks, light blue and green are not for the over 20s. Black, brown and navy are ideal as they are flattering.

Children however look gorgeous in brightly coloured velour tracksuits. Some parents struggle with finding clothes for their daughters which are comfy and practical whilst being stylish. When you can get all three in one outfit you have found a winner. When children have been swimming or doing activities they like to be able to easily pull their clothes on and off.

So with this in mind, take a look at tracksuits offered by different retailers. You will find some awful ones and the odd gem. If they specialise in velour clothing you are on to a winner. The tracksuits should be reasonably priced, do not pay over £60 for a tracksuit otherwise you are paying for the trend and not the clothing. Spending too little on the other hand will leave you with a shoddy piece of clothing.

Christmas Shopping: Pink Velour Tracksuit And Gifts They Have Asked For

Children and adults have a list of Christmas presents they would like to receive. Vouchers, clothes and toys are all popular with many. Most think that the best present is to be able to spend the holidays with friends and family. The cost of the present should be secondary to what thought has gone into your choice. making the presents you give personal and individual to the recipient is worth much more than an expensive gist that they don’t actually want.

Make A List

First, create a list o f all the people you would like to get a gift for. These can be family, friends and colleagues. Then, make a small note about what you think that person would like. If you have a shared joke or memory you can base your present on that or they might have already asked for something. Your granddaughter or niece might have asked for a pink velour tracksuit.

You Don’t Need To Spend A Lot Of Money

The main thing to remember is that presents do not need to be expensive for people to enjoy them. Pound shops have great jokey gifts. It’s the thought that counts, after all. If you are on a tight budget, think about things like homemade CDs with all their favourite songs on.

Just remember, it’s the thought that counts, not what it says on the price tag. You should be able to find presents for everyone on your list if you put the thought into them and shop smartly for them.

Start Early

Just be smart about it, shop around and start early. Don’t be one of those people who goes out on the 24th to load up on presents. Do not let Christmas become stressful, think about the presents you buy and do not pressure yourself into spending a fortune.
